Itchenor Merlin Rocket Winter Championships,

27/10/2020 20:11:49
Itchenor Sailing Club approached the committee looking to host a two-day Winter Championships for the Merlin Rocket Class in the early part of 2021. It was discussed and with the committee acknowledging so much sailing lost in 2020, why not kick start 2021 with something a bit different.

So here we have it the Itchenor Merlin Rocket Winter Championships,16th and 17th January 2021. Sailing will be in accordance with COVID-19 Government Guidelines and entry is limited to 40 boats with Bronze, Silver and Gold sailors.

This event is hosted by Itchenor Sailing Club with the support of the MROA Committee.

Entries are now open https://www.itchenorsc.co.uk/booking/type/open-events

More details and a message from Roger Yeoman rear Commodore of Sailing at ISC to come from the club.

Thanks MROA!

Such a shame that the build up to Xmas is being restricted as the gov try to get us back into some kind of controlled shape, but hopefully this event will be something for people to look forward to in the New Year!

Itchenor have loved hosting the Merlins over the last few year as we have started to build our fleet.  Hopefully this will kick off a great season in 2021!

1 month until the Itchenor Merlin Rocket Winter Champs. The club are really pulling out all of the stops here to make this event a resounding success. Please can you get your entries in if you're planning to come, so George and the team are aware of numbers and can plan accordingly. Thankyou!

Hi all,

Unfortunately, but not necessarily unsurprisingly, the COVID restrictions have forced the club into making the tough decision to cancel the January Itchenor Winter Champs.

The club have also deemed it unlikely to be able to hold any of our Winter Warmers. We will continue to work to ty to get some sailing in at some point, but only when it is safe to do so and for people to travel to attend.

It has been an awkward year for us all, and I hope that everyone has remained safe and hopefully 2021 will see some normality return, specifically Rose on the Salcombe YC terrace in July!

Happy new year!

George
