Very sorry to hear this news, we shall all miss James - he was an inspiration to us and I'm sure memories of him and Dangerbat will live for a long time. Our thoughts are with yourself and Helen.

We're very sorry to hear your sad news, we had no idea that he was so poorly. Our condolences to all the Middleton-Stewart family
Nix, So sorry to hear this. Your Dad was such a gentleman and I have very fond memories of him and your Mum from when I started crewing Merlins in the late 80s. It was great to meet up with you all again a few years ago at Rutland. My condolences to you and Helen.
I would like to offer my condolences too - I'm really sad to hear this news. As the other half of Fat Pig in the late eighties it was always great to compare stories from a day's racing with James and Helen. I think that what stood out for me was James' modesty and honesty - acknowledging that it was often his mistakes that were to blame, but always looking on the bright side and resolving how to do better next time. Tony
We also had no idea James was so poorly as it must be just a few months ago that he was competing hard at circuit events. I feel this is a big loss to the fleet as James was always brilliantly welcoming to Weymouth events and a fantastic competitor and gentleman at other circuit events.
A true gentleman from the old school, always ready with a helpful(?) remark and a valuable opinion, a good sailor and a real loss to the fleet. The Archers were very sorry to hear this news. Our love and sympathy to Helen and Nix.
Nix, so sorry to hear this. Raced against your dad on many occasions during the 1990s in Moondance Assassin. We had many a battle with neither totally getting the better of the other. A great competitor and will be missed. Condolences to you and Helen.
sad to read this.
Tragic loss of a great sailor and wonderful individual, gone far too soon. Deepest sympathy to all his family and friends.
Oh, Nix, I'm so sorry.
