Despite the wind outlook, a fleet of well over 50 boats enjoyed a bright pursuit race around Chichester Harbour on Saturday. With a breeze that rarely topped 10 knots, Merlins were always going to be in contention, and it was a good quality fleet of 7 boats that hit the startline. Winner of the inaugural Perisher Pursuit were Ben & Roz McGrane in their merlin, 4th was Richard Whitworth and Sarah Bine ahead of Tim Fells and Jerry Eplett. Jude and GG were beaten to the line by Simon and Jackie Lytton with Steve and Sarah Cockerill not far away. First of the old boats was Mike Partridge and Claire Davis in their recent acquisition 3585 After Hours.

All in all an excellent start to the season in the Harbour and a taster for the Double Header Silver tiller at HISC on 27th and 28th April.

Other dates for your diary include the Chichester Yacht Club ST on Sat March 16th and the Glynn Charles Pursuit on May 11th.

Hoping to see you all for those.
