Reported in D Tel that David has been caught in an avalanche in Val d'Isere and is critically ill ; his wife Chrissy was saved .
According to Daily Mail, he suffered a heart attack as his 'balloon' didnt inflate whereas his wifes did.
Dreadful news - David didn't make it. Deepest sympathy for the Robinson family. David was a real character and great sailor - untouchable in the '85 nationals.
John Parmenter and I bourght Tantram M/R 2000 from David and we were always greatful for the help and assistance he gave us.A very sad day.
Truly very, very sad news, coming close on the other deaths of my generation, David crewed for me in the 1966 championships and I remember his wedding in Weymouth in the autumn of thesameyear, over nthe years he has been a good and supportive friend I will miss him sympathies to all.
The BBC have just run a very well pitched piece on David as part of the lunchtime news on BBC South. I'd expect it to be run again at 18.25 tonight.
