The breeze was coming down the river Trent towards the clubhouse and contained some mighty gust's, only the brave or foolhardy were fully committed to hiking, with the occasional girly shriek being heard as boats planned past the club house.
Paul Hollis continued his run of good form at Trent to take the event win accompanied by Paula Mason who has won this event as crew previously back in the 1990's when Mike Calvert ruled the midland Circuit.
Organiser Guy Browne's delight at winning his first ever open meet race to finish second overall helped to make up for his disappointment at the surprisingly low turn out, the Southport 24 hour race didn't help here.
Other teams forgot their boats but came for lunch anyway which was as good as ever, the RAF memorial flight Lancaster also put in an appearance.
Thanks TVSC another great day on the river.
