I am very sad to report some bad news. Mervy Allen, long time Merlin sailor and founder of the Vintage Wing as we know it, died this morning. Although he had been ill for some time it was sudden and unexpected. His daughter, Melisa, called me with the bad news. She promised to keep us up to date with funeral plans, etc. But she wanted me to spread the word to his sailing friends. He was a top man - I am sure we will all have more to say about that when we have had time to digest the news.

I have heard from Mervyns daughter, Melissa:
Mervyns Funeral will be held in the East Chapel at West London Crematorium, Harrow Road, Kensal Green on Monday 18th November at 1.00pm and afterwards at the William Pub, 786 Harrow Road, London, NW10 5JX.
Dress code - Dad didnt wear black to funerals, please wear whatever makes you happy.
Please let us know if you intend to come so we can manage catering.
