It is with much sadness  that I write to let you know that Andrew died yesterday aged 82. I am sure many will have many memories of him - now to be treasured.  I am sure our thoughts are with Carolyn and their family.

Andrews funeral will be held on Thursday 26th May, 2.00pm at Oldham Crematorium and afterwards at the White Hart.

A Merlin Rocket and Hollingworth Lake stalwart he and his brother Chriss company, were the first big ticket Championship sponsors supporting the 1980 Weymouth event. He was an innovative thinker - those of a cerain vintage may recall a boat Guy WInder built for him that encompassed a 180 degree semi circular track that had a single wire on a traveller which disappeared into the boom - this not only removed the need for both a kickker and a mainsheet but also removed the crews ears! He had an endless store of stories and limericks all told with impeccable timing and style. Outside of Merlin Rockets he twice skippered the winning boat in the Three Peaks Race - both times sailing the Rowsell and Morrison built Formula 40 catermaran.

For those who are unable to attend the Funeral will be live streamed as set out in the note below.
