We are very sad to report the death last Friday of Mike Fitz, after a long illness. A legend of his time. GP14 World Champion crew, wannabee Finn, FD and Soling Olympian, and International Finn class measurer. Much loved in many classes, OK, Tasar, Laser and Merlin amongst others.  Stalwart of the Whitstable Merlin fleet.  Further detail to follow.

I saw the article in Y&Y last week. A good many years since I last saw Mike, but I have great memories sailing against him and chats at events over the years. Sad news indeed
