Its time to start thinking about the forthcoming season. The dinghy show is in 9 days time (5th and 6th March at Alexandra Palace) and we are celebrating our 70th Anniversary.

Of note:
Three vastly different merlins, including a Jon Turner, a new Winder and Gently - no. 16.
David Henshall, author of "Real Magic 70 Years of Merlin Rockets" is giving a talk - "70 years of Dinghy Development: 70 years of Merlin Rockets"
Champagne both days - 12 noon.
Cake - any volunteers within our 500 strong membership to make a cake. Ideally we would have at least two, one for each day, but there is no such thing as too many cakes I'm told.
We intend to open entries for the 2016 Selden Nationals, 13th-19th August, Penzance Sailing Club on Saturday 5th March. Be the first to enter. More website details to follow within the next week.
Tim Harridge and Lucy Burn are this years Nationals organisers and are also providing a Boat Matching Service. The intention of this is to encourage owners of merlins that are not planning to attend to lend their boats to people who would like to attend this year's Nationals but don't have a merlin. This year we are again offering half priced entry to young helms, boats of sail number 3600 or below (this is an increase in the number of boats that qualify) and also first time helms at the merlin nationals. We really do hope it will be a bumper Nationals.

I'll be at the dinghy show on Saturday - I hope to see lots of people there to celebrate our 70th!
