It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have to inform you that John Parmenter passed away earlier this week. John had been battling cancer of the throat for the past year.
John had sailed Merlin's and 505's for most of his life and his love for both of these boats was apparent to anyone who had the pleasure and honour to know him. 
Most recently he sailed a Summerwine, 3350, the transom of which I got to know far better than I would care to!
 
John was an active member within our club and often went out of his way to share his passion and to help those in need. He is fondly thought of within the club and will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
