A grandparent is looking for a club to get his grandson sailing and is asking if Hollingworth is still going!

That was me! I have sent the following to the club several times and left telephone messages without response.

"My wife and I took my daughter and her two young sons to our little pad on the French Mediterranean coast last summer where I have a Yole (the two seater rowing boat not the sailing dinghy). The elder boy picked up handling the sliding seat, outriggers and feathering really quickly but soon lost interest.

The younger got into a terrible mess with the oar looms behind his head!

However, when he (the younger) spotted dinghy sailing on an inland lagoon, he wanted to try it.

He showed great aptitude in an Optimist and also joined me and my wife on a 2Win cat in a F5. His pleas for further outings were thwarted by excessive winds. (We are beneath the Pyrenees where we are "blessed" with anything up to F10 on occasions!).

My daughter and sons live near Halifax which I estimate to be around 15 miles away. I would like some membership details with a view to Alex joining if that is possible. He is 10 years of age and a swimmer.

I look forward to your response and would welcome the opportunity of a "taster" visit if possible when the season starts."

I would like him to retain his interest. Any help will be very welcome.
