MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : No Rock'n'Roll at Hampton

That's right, there's no Rock'n'Roll at Hampton on the weekend of the 21st/22nd September, courtesy of the on the water judging of Chris Simon. Vintage Merlins on Saturday and the Silver Tiller jamboree on Sunday. 11am start times both days.

There's no Rock'n'Roll on Saturday night either, just the tried and tested Hampton curry, barrels of beer, Black Seal Dark'n'Stormy, Jaegerbombs and dub step off of Gina's IPod.

We recommend that visiting sailors should turn up at Hurst Park on the Surrey side where they can launch, a ferry will be running over to the island.

Look forward to seeing you all there. Please feel free to email any queries.

Curious Drinker is right Hampton do know how to party. Phil has the sailing and the booze organised and is working on the weather! I am organising the Curry. All for £12.00 you can have either: Chicken Madras (hot), Chicken Tikka Masala (medium) or Murgh Maakhani known locally as Butter Chicken (mild) with Rice, Vegetable and Naan Bread. I will be at the Club on Saturday but need to let the Indian Restaurant know our requirement by 2.30pm that afternoon. Please feel free to text, call or email me with your name and order. Food will be served between 6.30pm and 7.00pm. My number is 07834 133792. Look forward to seeing you at the weekend.

Thank you Mags! Just to say, there are three more Thames Series meetings to go at Hampton and Tamesis (both Silver Tiller opens this year), and Ranelagh.

With four events to count, two boats have already qualified, four more only need to attend another open and a further four boats need just two more events to qualify.

Meanwhile, the 31 other boats on the results table could still qualify if they take part in all of the last three meetings.

Looks like a nice F1-2 from the SW at the moment. It might come up a bit when the river-breeze kicks in at around 10.30. Ideal river yotting conditions! :-)

bacon sarnies are available at the club from 9.30. I wouldn't bother looking at forecasts the Hampton on sea breeze kicks in around mid day.
