Updates now up. ST and Salcombe now include crew detials. I also adding the winning designs to each page for interest. http://www.merlinrocket.co.uk/library/misc/past_champions_inlands.htm |
Except that in 1968 it was "Flower Child" 2062 crewed by Peter Morton. |
Hurrah, thanks David. I had the ST trophy in my possession the other year and the crew was missing for that year. From memory it had Beat Nik down for that forth year in a row, but perhaps you used both boats that year. I will make the update. |
No it was Flower Child all the way and I doubt I'd have had it enraved Wrongly and I would be surprised if I left Peters Name off but then Maybe I didn't get it done, maybe it was Alan Warren or the secretary. |
Dear Ross, |
Thanks Chris. Will also update (and check the year book is correct.) |
Possibly need to amend GT & OT Nationals 2009 to "Let it Ride (mod)" if you want to be pedantic .... he he he |
Andy I think all Let it Rides were mods, none of them are exactly the same.... ;-)) |
But BAU is considerably different, not the same shape at all. NSM2's are not all the same shape either, both Jon Turner and Laurie Smart made their own tweaks. |
From what I understand my old Let it Ride was tweaked just about enough to allow Spud to build it without paying royalties. It is still down as a Let it Ride though. |
There's definately a plaque in 3550 that says designed and built by Rowsell & Morrison............ |
She is wider at the transom than the other Let it Rides John as I am sure you have noticed. She planes well and you can really get her going on a Spinnaker Reach. I am sure Spud knows nothing about how she ended up so close to a Let It Ride!! |
Salcombe Week 1961. Was it 1277 Splinters or "Spilinters"? |
SPLINTERS Robin Fowlers previous boat 1063 Gollywogs got wrecked by a Greenline Bus in a road accident, hence the name. |
Nationals 1993 - Scroggie splet wrog.... |
