This years dinghy show was very well attended, and the high standard of exhibitors displays definitely made the trip to Alexandra Palace worthwhile. The Merlin Rocket stand was a constant hive of activity, attracting even more attention than Jamie's A Rater! Aside from our current national champion and many other sailing luminaries, we had visitors from the USA and Sweden who are returning to arrange test sails (I kid you not) as well as new members of the fleet (hello Brightlingsea!). It was a pleasure to see another sparkling Merlin on the Speed sails Stand,in full effect for 2010! As always, it was the people who volunteered their boats, time, etc for the love of the class which brought the stand to life and a big thank you goes to:
Andy & Caroline Hay Dave & Celia charlton For the loan of their boats, and not minding everyone pulling their strings around for 2 days Mr & Mrs Deacon Kieron & son Richard Battey Andy Marlow & the gorgeous Pippa Taylor Dan the man Alsop Chairman Alex (where were you when we packed up?) Ben & Chris "Team Pleasure" Andrew Mills & Peter Ellam Dave Winder who put in alot of time and effort, as well as the sailmakers who support our class; Goacher Sails, Pinnel& Bax and Hydes Sails. What a good weekend.
