if you can make Midland this sunday, give Steve watson a ring, he might be able to do them.

You have the World most reliable and truly excellent and accurate measurer on your doorstep, David Chivers lives in Brightlingsea and is a member of your club.

Dave didn't know whether he could measure Merlin sails on Saturday when I asked him. Something to do with Merlins needing to change their rules - he was going to find out at the beginning of this week if that had happened

Gosh I remember Geoff from my Mirror days, is this the same person? Any email/phone number would be good.
Thanks again.

Hi Craig,

Don't have contact details to hand, but RYA website or Merlin year book will have contact details.

It is the same Geoff Appleton as you remember...

Glad the Merlin fleet at Brightlingsea is thriving - I suspect that, like Chichester Harbour, it is the right boat for the waters and will do well whatever the conditions.

It's probably on the site but I cannot find it.
Is there (There must be?)list of Measurers authorised to measure Merlin Rockets, from what GGGG has said ISAF or RYA Measurers are not automatically so enpowered?

Thanks Graham, I will ask Keith to look in his year book, my membership is in the post!
Yes Brightlingsea Merlins are going well, 4 new boats all of similar standard and all booked for Whitstable so we will see how we get on.
Our open is at the end of April and if anyone needs a room we have one spare, camp site is within 2 mins but it may be a bit cold. Accomodation details can be found on www.sailbrightlingsea.com
Drop me a line if you need accomodation and I will see what we can sort out. Away the first 2 weeks of April so unable to reply then. Looking forward to seeing all you Merlin sailors, Keith Callaghan has told me about alot of the older members, lots of stories.

Measurers are only listed in the MROA yearbook at present.

I suspect there will be a number of measurers at Midland on Sun.
I need one myself!

Dave Chivers can now measure Merlin Sails, he is doing a number over the weekend of the 18th April at Brightlingsea Sailing Club. I do not have his contact details but am sure if you need sails measured and post it here he will pick it up.
