Topic : Thanks to Mike Calvert

Just like to say a heartfelt thanks to Mike Calvert, we arived at Blithfield thought we were all sorted then managed to pull our jib halyard out of the mast.
I was all for packing up and going home, a major downer.
Mike saw us all at sea in the car park and came over and sorted us out.
So this year I have dumped him a cold resevoir (toe straps pulled out)and messed his pre race routine up.
The only thing I can say apart from thanks is that Blithfield was the first open meet I had to look at the results as I was not going to be the penulitimate finisher.
I hope that makes it worth Mike's time and effort, greatley appreciated and a beer or two waiting you next time we see you.
Cheers

I think Mike is great too. I wouldn't want him to know that or tell him to his face!, that is why I have not put my true identity. I think that he is a great ambassador and embodies everthing that is great about Merlin Rockets.

Mike and Jane give up a lot of time and energy for the fleet and is always willing to help, for longer than I can remember, and anyone who has been to the training will know this.

But well done to you Martin, and I hope the new boat gives you even more result searching, and beating the others at redditch this sat.

Dave.
