Topic : Any old bits in the shed?

I've just acquired MR2349 (Superstition) and am trying to source a few bits to bring her up to speed, preferably keeping her "in era".

Namely - a rudder blade to fit a CVee Stock?
A Dacron mainsail - or suit?
A cover - I'll end up buying new, but a second hand one that roughly fits would be good at the moment.

Hoping to get her going before the end of the season - possibly at Thamesis.

Or should that be Tamesis?

I have an old dacron mainsail that might work for you. Could bring up to Webmbley at the end of the month? What luff / foot dimensions do you need?

I am collecting a whole load of old merlin 'stuff' tonight. Not sure what is there or just what period some bits may be but there is quite a load including sails rudders etc. I'll list them when I can.

It's mostly OLD (and smelly!) but some bits may be suitable - I saw one reasonable dacron sail. I liked the pastel shades of the cotton spinnakers!

I have a dacron main, a couple of jibs and some spinnakers stored in the garage which may be of interest to you.

Give me a call on 01628 526010 - Cookham

Hi Giles,

When Sidhe Gaoth is ready for re-launching, why not bring her down to Tamesis and have a chat with our Merlin fleet. I know of another Superstition at the club - 2184 Four Ever Fickle, so you'll be in good company. There's bound to be a spare dacron main/jib or two hanging around plus we don't shut down for the winter.

Our winter series starts on Sunday 9th November, with a handicap race at 10.30am followed by the main class race at 11.15am. If you're ready by October, we've got our Merlin open weekend on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October. As your boat is over 30 year's old, it qualifies for both days, the Saturday being the vintage open.

Looking forward to seeing you and your boat at Tammy.
