Until one is committed, there is always hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.  Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one element of truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans - that the moment that one commits oneself, then providence moves all.  All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred.  A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed could come his way.  Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.  Begin it now.

Now booked into the Travelodge (and I'll have to accept the penalties for that!) at Uppingham Morcott, some 8 miles from Rutland. At least it will keep us sober - admittedly unfair - and hopefully Dan's wise words will sink in.

I still want to go to the training but unfortunately no crew. Is there anyone interested in crewing or sharing helm & crew roles. I have accommodation as well about 5 miles away.

Checked with Dan this morning, he said 16 boats so far. Details will be sent out about a week before the event.

Got accomodation at the Boot & Shoe in South Luffenham, 3 miles away. Bringing push-bikes for the "commute".

10am according to details in the last issue of the magazine.  I'd check with Dan Alsop if you want more info, as he's sending out full details to entrants this week.

Morcote is about 10 mins from the Club, good choice.
Fast road all the way. A1 and then Empingham, turn left and go down hill past the church, turn left for Stamford and then first right and right again. Follow the road to Edith Weston, turn right at the junction and second right down past the school the Club is gjust off to the Left

I wonder what a racing flag is? Is it the square burgee that we once had to sport when racing, as opposed to the trianglur burgee for cruising?
