Topic : Copper Nails

On the scrounge again!

Does anyone have lurking in a dust covered tray in their workshop or know where I can obtain some 15mm long flat head copper nails?

Thanks in advance

Richard

Cheapest are Anglia Fastenings at Stanton St. John near Bury St Edmunds, who supply most E.Anglian boatbuilders. They will mail.

Roofing Slates should be nailed with copper so you could try a builders merchant: ask for copper clout nails. May be a problem getting them that short. Link shows the sort of thing.

Generally the stuff from this type of company will say it's "coppered" or in the case of pins "brassed". You have to watch this as they will rust as quick as look at them if you get salt water on them and the electrolysis starts. They are steel underneath. Go for the real McCoy every time.
