The forerunner of all the Ian Holt Tales deriveratives, the 1st Ian Holt design. Was always good with lighter crew weight. |
Brings back many happy memories of racing her at Hollingworth Lake late 1990's & early 2000's, I only sold her when virtually all the fleet bought Winder plastic-fantastics. |
Any more info on the boat? |
I can recall an old article in the MR Mag about Ian Holt or someone else thinking that this boat looked like a Ford Sierra - it came out of the jelly mould too early! The forerunner that ended up with the Tales that all you fast boys are sailing. Great pics in the MR Book with a self tacking jib track (obviously removed!). |
With Dave and Sally Townend on board, it came 4th at the Inlands in 1991, so it has a good pedigree. |
Seemed to go for £300, so someone got a bargin! |
I believe it may have been the author of one of the previous posts? |
Fond memories of sailing nice legs - first introduction into merlins for me! |
I sailed it at QM when it was new! It had the self tacking jib and we shot past NSM2s on a two sailer. The establishment took the p*** out of the boat (mainly for the self tacker) at the time, but I guess Ian showed them in the end! |
