Topic : Old boat spinnakers

I am aware that there have been some changes in the spinnaker sizes over the years in the MR class but can anyone tell me what the measurements would have been in the mid 50's ie before the "new" old measurement kites came in - or am I completely mistaken and has there only been one rule change?

There are about three sets of measuements that I know of, the original Spinny was tiny, The Lark used the same original shape, then the next stage in the 70's a larger spinny came along, I think based on the Scorpion one, then the new one in the last few years.

Merlin (70's) spinny on Lark = great fun
Lark spinny on Merlin = underpowered and undersized

I'll compare our old original (cut for running) spinny with a Lark one and let you know.
Chris has a cotton lawn pocket handkerchief that was flown inside the forestay!
