Thanks Steve, yes 5 boats out of 17 already signed up are under 3500, so lots of mature boat action.

SPONSORS - I don't want to exclude anyone from providing extra sponsorship to teh event, I have reached out and had a good response so far - for those I have not asked please please contact me if you want to donate a spot prize etc to keep your name prominant in teh Merlin fleet.

The vintage wing will be contesting the latest round of the De May trophy at Shearwater. Also there wil be a "Cotton Sails trophy" for Saturday racing open to vintage boats of any class with old cotton sails. Iska (Merlin 6) is current favourite though it is rumoured Mervyn is bringing Kate properly dressed!

It is a real shame there is a clash, as I went to secure lots of bottles of Fuller's Vintage Ale as prizes for the vintage boats at the National (Inland) Champs.

Never mind, I'll have to give them out to the not quite so vintage entrants.

Definitely a shame as there's three events that weekend we would have done if they'd been on seperate weekends. Oh well that's life.
