Topic : Anyone got a Silva 103P or PE they want to sell?

After an unfortunate accident involving a loose bracket and a balcony i need a new compass.

Anyone got one they want to part with?

Cheers

Chris,

You may already be watching this item?

For now that is all I can think of i'm afraid. Good luck with the hunt.

Chris,

I have a Silva 103P - originally appeared on this forum under "Smokers Parts" - possibly misleading.
You're welcome to make me an offer!

I'll email as well -

Colin

Chris

I think you need to expand about the bracket and the balcony - what on earth were you doing?????

A mate of mine made me a nice aluminium bracket as nobody makes them these days, and returned it to me on saturday afternoon.

I'm standing on the balcony at Midland watching the racing and i think to myself "what's he done with the brass washers" and i give the dome a little push. The compass flew out of the bracket like a polaris missile and whilst i'm grabbing several handfulls of fresh air i see it bounce off the edge of the balustrade and fall 20 feet to the ground.

Fortunatly (depending on how you look at it, it might have had a softer landing were it not for Salcombe week) there was nobody or boats underneath.

One of my more expensive clumsy moments.

Dont worry Chris your not alone! I remember my son doing the same thing to a 103 of mine although not from a balcony! It was soul destroying watching the fluid drain from the compass.

Richard...worringly the Silva that I was offering Chris was the one that you sold me with G-Gnu...can't see any sign of sellotape, though..

Mike,

How the devil are you and why aren't you down at Salcombe?

I believe the 'Gnu' is up North now still getting good use I hope.

I have just aquired a very old Merlin '908' but needs a bit of work......anyone know how to scarf a plank?

As for the compass, being greedy I had two! You had the spare.

Great to hear from you again.

Best wishes to you.

Richard,

Not at Saclombe as Katie is 32 weeks pregnant...all very exciting, but little sailing on the agenda...did you know that you can get carbon prams?

The Gun went to Banbury and went very nicely in the Open back in April

Cheers, Mike

I'm afraid that you will find the wife and new born will need lots of TLC plus lots of help so the sailing will no doubt take a back seat for quite a while!Rule numbe rone family comes first, plus the little ones will grow up so quickly. Enjoy.

All the best

Mike,

I heard you capsized at HAmpton on Sunday, it wasn't very windy, what were you doing?
