MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Warming Pan Starts Video

Got the starts of the first 2 races on my web site, follow the obvious red link.

I would like to say there is no sound signals to protect the innocent (3 to 5 in the first race, nearly every one in the second, without even an individual recall) but it is due to my technical inability really.

At the risk of being labelled totally thick, what link?

Can't see it anywhere.

Sorry, I was trying to reload them in a different format, to get the sound. It's under the picture un the right.

I think it is something to do with MPEG4 codec whatever that is, let me know if you can hear the sound or not, at least that way I'll kmow if it is a problem with my PC or generally.

Very pleasant videos!!!!

All those people with dodgy media players. LOL

I could always post a commentary a bit liker radio and those who can't see the vids could just image the scene!

Fyi, the the line transit was a mast somewhere behind me, and a an inner distance mark (orange) tied to the pole with a basket on top.

1st start I was a little upstream of the mast, 2nd start I was bang on transit.

Enjoy.

Couldn't video Sundays, as I was too busy sailing a Foxer!

But for those not there, the fleet managed to get general recalls on both Sunday starts, back to normal, well done. Mark tells me that at least on GC was partly due to him seeing the Videos and being determined not to be left behind.

I thought the transit was to the left hand wall of the pink ferry shed on the far shore. If so, on the water it felt like we were all over but actually not! Must try harder!!!

We thought it was the left hand side of the pink shed too...

At work, I can get the sound no pictures, and at home I get the pictures no sound.

So I can't pass comment on what you are commenting on. The transit on the water should be better than our guess on the balcony as at least you can sight both objects at the same time.

If any techies can help me with what I can do to sort out the MPEG4 Codec (I think that is the problem, as when I try to edit the videos, to make them smaller than the 12 & 25 meg which is a bit excessive, it says I haven't got a MPEG4 Codec) please e-mail me.

Thanks

We were the third all blue boat across the line in that 2nd video! Think it was Biggs/Stopps on the leeward shore and Glibert/Stewart to windward of us. The cheek of it Barnsie!

I supose Barnsie is a bit out of date. Tom and Chris have blue boat now.
But Chris you havn't exlained to your fan base why Tom's voice is doing the comentary on the first race!

You can tell the TV is boring, reloaded my video software, sorted out the sound (yes it was on mute!) edited the frames of the actual start and drew a red line on the pictures to the 'wall of the pink hut', made the videos smaller and option downloads.

Enjoy
