Top advice for those coming to the Warming Pan this weekend - try and travel down early and allow an extra 20 minutes for parking.
For a variety of reasons, none of which are Hamble River SC's fault, there will be VERY LIMITED parking on/near the waterfront in Hamble this weekend. The Donkey Derby field used in previous years for parking will not be available this year.
When you arrive you will be asked to drop off your boat/kit/passengers at the Dinghy Park. Marshals will then tell you where you should be able to park your car. This could well be up to 10 mins walk from the club.
SO, BE PREPARED AND LEAVE TIME FOR A WALK OF UP TO 10 MINS BACK TO THE CLUB ONCE YOU'VE DUMPED YOUR CAR. LISTEN TO THE MARSHALS ADVICE. THEY WILL BE DOING THEIR BEST TO HELP YOU.
PLEASE DON'T EXPECT TO UNPACK YOUR BOAT AND THEN MOVE YOUR CAR. THE CAR WILL NEED TO BE MOVED FIRST!
Thanks HRSC

Just to add a bit more local knowledge - There are major road works at the Square, resulting in less parking spaces in the square and it's less accessible anyway. It may even make it difficult to tow a Merlin around the works and down the narrow street - take care here, esp for the masts! If you are not towing a boat, I'd recommend parking (sensibly and with consideration!) a distance away from the Square/High Street/foreshore area and walk the rest of the way. Maybe a few spaces could be found at Port Hamble (get there via Satchell lane). Early risers might bag the few spaces there are! I hope to get down there sunday morning to spectate!
