Topic : Training event

Just bought a new Merlin from winder Boats and looking for some training events in the summer, does any one know who I should talk to. Only ever sailed a Mirror with the kids and an RS200 with the wife and feel training may be required!!

Dan Alsop is the training guru. There is an excellent 3-day event at Rutland which people learn a vast deal from, plus (sometimes) some club-run events too.

There'll be a bunch of us in Brightlingsea for the Classic and Vintage/Merlin Vintage joint event on Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend. Great sailing there - the Silver Tiller crowds would enjoy it.

Craig! Welcome aboard - glad the new boat is up and running..

What is this 'only ever sailed the mirror with the kids'?

Folks, this guy is a God; 9th at Mirror Worlds and UK Team manager to boot.

Come on Craig, come down to the Warming Pan and kick some butt! The only training you need is to 'work the one string' and we can help with that!

You have to watch these Mirror people. Sailed against one at Hayling last year who was also new to Merlins. Seem to do OK. Probably G'd by his crew tho.

Welcome Craig.

Hi Ozzie
We are going to go out on the 24th March for our first sail, don't know if you are about but I may need a hand to rig her! Been speaking with the guy you sold your old Merlin, he had some damage done at ardleigh in all that wind, boat now is abit of a mess however when it is fixed I think we may see him at Brightlingsea for a weekend or even Pyefleet Week.
