I need a new boom up cover for my 1962 Chippendale MK XII. I'd welcome any information about potential suppliers. |
I'm going to make my own as there's no "standard" size. Fabric and fittings from Point North (see link) http://www.profabrics.co.uk/ |
Try Waveloft - reasonable price and custom made. http://www.waveloft.com/html/products.html |
As a matter of interest what material do you use Pat for the cover and under cover - it's not clear from the site. Thanks Garry |
I've just had one made to measure from trident-uk, perfect fit and the price was right. They send you a form, you just fill in the measurements - had it within 4 days. |
I can make a cover for your boat if you like... just drop the boat off to the loft and I'll make to fit dynamicsails.com |
Laurie Smart got an an excellent cover for my NSM II from Vellas out in Brentwood/Billericay last year when he was refurbishing her. I can't remember whether he said they still had patterns for some older boats or whether they made it from measurements he gave them, but it may be worth giving them a ring. |
Sail register, made to measure turned round in a week |
Bought one from Goldfinch Covers about 5 years ago, very pleased with it, competitively priced and it has proper lacing rather than short life velcro. Not sure if they are still trading: website shows 2005 prices. |
Thanks to all of you who responded to my question about a cover. I decided to buy it from Waveloft partly because Mark Basham of that company used to sail M/Rs on the River Blackwater |
