Topic : Does the Ancient Geek still frequent the F.O.B.?

Question for the AG. Do you still lunch at the City F.O.B. in Lower Thames Street? If so, let me have a few dates when you'll be free and then we can catch up.

Not these days but anywhere else when I'm in town unless you'd like a Scandinavian trip who ever you may be.

Now it is my turn to guess!
The only person I recall lunching or drinking with at the City FOB is Roger Eglin and that not since 1995 or so, but then too much vintage port fuels the forgettery! Anyway Roger is possibly not well enough these days to think about a London Trip - Sadly.

I used to lunch at the F.O.B.in the days when I worked in Cannon Street and used to see you there. When I'm up in the City now I tend to go to Bangers Too in St Mary at Hill or else Berries down by Blackfriars.

I use to use the F.O.B on but did find grapeshots a better Davy's establishment. This was in the day's when the commodity markets were open outcry and based just round the corner. i remeber taking my soon to be wife there for lunch (she was a sales engineer and not used to City lunches!)before we went off to Fulham to buy some furniture for our flat. After some of Davy's finest Port she couldn't even get out of the car (a TVR those were the days) when we got to the shop and slept all of the time I was in the shop. I think this probably makes me a boring old fart who no longer fits in with the modern city ethos

As to the chand in cultur not for the better hand on heart does anybody do more than 4 hours WORK a day and is sleeping it off worse than posting away?
