Just settling into my third day of my new job at the RYA. It's a new department with me and Rob Andrews running it - basically we'll be running all the major RYA UK events from now on. 

A few people in the fleet have requested that the Ladies Champs should be reorganised. I may be able to help but need to do some research amongst the classes first.

Could all you girlies please think about where you would like to see it held, what time of year etc etc and either post it here or email your suggestions to me at [email protected]

I don't want you to run it again cause me and Jude are the reigning National Champions.. don't take the title away from us!!!  

On a more grown up note - go for it - its a greatly contested event, lots of squaddy 420 girls go etc.. needs to be earlier in the year though.. perhaps early sept.. not in late Oct which is what killed it last time!

Grafham was a good centrally located spot..  alot of bird poo though!

Fantastic news Lucy!  Maybe we'll get some action now - the RYA have shown no interest in this for ages and I'm fed up of beating my head against a brick wall with them, but don't get me started on that!!!  

Venue - I doubt Grafham will want to arrange it again as they seemed to be seriously p**sed off with the RYA after last time.  Rutland is good though - also central.  If you want pointers as to when not to hold it, then Carsington in December are two very good reasons!!!

I will send you the reams of correspndence that I had with the RYA after they cancelled the event last time as that had all my rants/ideas as to what they could do to improve it.  Also more than happy to talk to you about it at any time.

Rach - we've been reigning champs for 3 years now so we'd probably best go and show them how its done again!!
