Topic : The Beaver Patrol Are Back!!!!

Just a quick note to warn any unaware or unspecting citizens that following an eight year leave of absence, the notorious "Beaver Patrol" team Glen & Jim are back in business and ready to ride once more!!

The more established Merlin sailors will remember previous pranks such as the classic -

"Daughters knickers in halyard bag" (Parkstone '96)
"Magots in front bouyancy tank" (Whitstable '97)
"The gaylord tribute song" (Some might say Glen Truswell's gay by No-Way-Sis - Parkstone '96)
and many more..................

Thanks must go to project manager Paul Davies who after being daft enough to lend team "Beaver Patrol" his pride and joy 3442 Armed Forces back in '96 has forgot the wrongs of the day and has been stupid enough to offer the same management package for Hayling Island 60th anniversary 2005!!!

To quote the team "We don't feel that bridging our 30th birthdays has erroded our enthusiasm and passion to return to our childish and youthful ways, we look forward to larging it up at the championships!"

To attend this event Jim has abstained from his usual lifestyle of venturure capitalism and Porsche racing, he looks forward to his first day on the water in over eight years, trading it for the square mile. (For one week only)

Glen remains sceptical about Jims ability to cope with the rigours of modern Merlin sailing, namely carbon masts, larger spinnakers and longer poles than he's used to on a daily basis!!

Thankfully the team is endorsed by Pete Scott although to quote him directly "The boys have a lot to live up to, now in their declining "Gascoigne" years its going to be tough for them to re-kindle their love for the task in hand and rediscover the minisule magic they once displayed"

Margorie was more optomistic saying "They still look cute together"

The jury is out and time will tell, but Jim has recently snapped up another Kevin "Let it Ride" design just incase he enjoys the week.

Regards

Team Beaver Patrol.

Fantastic, however, Glen has bedded most of the girls in the Merlin fleet so there is nothing new there!

Not sure wether he hoists them as a mark of respect after each nationals!

I always wondered where the 'Gaylord' Bit came from.
