Join fellow female sailors on the 14th and 15th September for the second Merlin Rocket Women's specific training and racing at Parkstone Yacht Club. Sponsored by Baltic Lifejackets, Box PR and Creation Covers, the aim of the weekend is to provide an environment for our female sailors to build their confidence in a Merlin and to attract more female sailors into our class.
Saturday
There will be a training day on Saturday, coached by some of the top sailors in the fleet. If you want an environment to develop your crewing or helming skills, and build your confidence on the water, this is a great opportunity to get involved. After a full day on the water, the plan is to have a relaxed debrief and discussion with videos from the day and any questions you may have for our coaches or other female sailors attending.
For the evening, the club will be putting on a meal which can be booked with you entry (inc. extra tickets) followed by a talk by Sarah Ayton which is free to all competitors and additional tickets can be bought via Parkstone Yacht club for friends and family.
Sunday
The Women’s Championship will take place on Sunday with 4 races planned. This year we’ve reduced it down from 5 with the plan to have mixture of shorter and longer races. Looking forward to seeing you all out on the water!

Directions:From the M3 - M27 follow A31 passed Ringwood then first exit at roundabout for the A338 to Bournemouth (not Poole). After 10 miles pass over two roundabouts and reach traffic lights at Frizzell House roundabout. Take 2nd exit B3065 and follow signs for Sandbanks for two miles. At T-junction on edge of harbour turn Right for Town Centre. After 1.5 miles, the club is signposted Left down Elms Avenue. Pearce Avenue is then first right.
From the west or north enter Poole on the A35 and A350. Pick up signs for Civic Centre or Sandbanks. At Civic Centre traffic light system take Sandbanks Road and pass under narrow railway bridge and on for 0.5 miles. On your right pass the Recreation ground, Turks Lane and Pearce Avenue. The club is signposted at the next Right down Elms Avenue. Pearce Avenue is then first right.
