Just to let you know that I have now received all the entries that people had told me about for the race training and there are still a few places left, so if you are thinking of coming along, don't delay - it will be a great weekend of learning and fun on the great waters of Rutland. 

The training team consists of two helms and two crews, all experienced in sailing Merlins for many years, so we have a wealth of knowledge and experience to pass on to you!

Mike Calvert - Mike has won all of the four major Merlin events -The Champs, the Inlands, Salcombe Week and the Silver Tiller (the latter on several occasions)
Graham Williamson - Currently Class Chairman (for the second time) and a Merlin Championship winning crew.  Graham has also won many open meetings as a crew during his 21 years Merlin sailing.
Liam Dempsey - one of our top "yoof" sailors who been seen at the front of different Merlins and who has been known to win both open meetings and Championship races, as well as Salcombe Week.
Judith Massey - lady helm with some Merlin open meeting wins under her belt as well as having won the RYA Women's National Championship.

We will be running a variety of training activities, looking at your boats and giving advice on the most efficient methods of set up, as well as spending time sailing with you in your own boats.

All that has to be organised now is the sun and the wind!  It's going to be a great time, so get your entry in to me soon!
