We have now successfully migrated to Sailing Club Manager (SCM) as our new membership management system. The transition has happened quicker than we had anticipated and those astute amongst you will notice there are now two URLs in play www.merlinrocket.co.uk
and https://portal.merlinrocket.co.uk. We would like to reassure that both of these URLs are part of the MROA and if either are showing you are generally in the right place.
What happens now?
www.merlinrocket.co.uk
remains our shop window, and from here you will notice links to the SCM portal, when you click on certain pages you will be redirected to the SCM portal, and you can switch between the two. If in doubt, please check the URL.
The new Forum, For Sale pages and the Event Calendar are now hosted by SCM in a sub-domain. If you wish to post to these pages, you will need to use your new membership login that you should have received as part of this year’s renewal process. (I’m not sure everyone has received a renewal reminder as yet.)
The old pages will remain visible, but read-only and will be moved to an Archive section of the menu shortly. Pages that were available to members only (where you had to log in) such as the Library and Committee Updates are still accessible, but from a Login to Members Archive menu. The login for these pages will be your original www.merlinrocket.co.uk
login.
The new system enables greater visibility of members and their membership status together with integration with payment systems, making membership applications and renewals easier for everyone, and in particular, the Membership Secretary and Treasurer. There are also other advantages such as the facility to email members and integration of online entries with member records and payment systems.
We will have an SCM Helpdesk on the Merlin Rocket Stand at the RYA Dinghy and Watersports Show on stand 222, so please come with any questions you have, and we will do our best to answer these.
