We have the sad duty of relaying the news that Robert died (peacefully but unexpectedly) last weekend. He was a merlin sailor from the 1970’s through to the 2000’s and a Salcombe Week attendee for many years.  Various ailments then curtailed his sailing but he remained a member at Blithfield until quite recently.
Robert was a very good friend to our family and to other Merlin sailors.  He was always entertaining to be with.  His joyous enthusiasm will be much missed, and our thoughts are with his wife Helen at this difficult time.
