Just ten days to go until the Draycote Classic and Vintage open, and from the forecast it looks like perfect shorts and tee shirt Summer sailing.
Here’s a link to the Visitor Information on the Draycote website:

Here’s what it says about Draycote in the 1986 Jim Park and Ian Holt Merlin book:
“Draycote Water SC stands out in this area as offering the best sailing and clubhouse facilities. The lake is one of those very few that can offer and Olympic triangle with a one mile beat for the visitors and a similar triangle for the club racing. The well-equipped modern clubhouse is reached via the end of the M45, just south of the village of Dunchurch. The club has several times hosted the Class’s Inland Championships and since 1972, has been the venue for the final Silver Tiller meeting of the year.”
So to sum up, open water right in the heart of the country and easy to get to.
Just reading through the visitor info, you can also bring your boat and sail on the Friday afternoon:
“If you are arriving the day or evening before the event, you are welcome to use the water the afternoon before the event”
I’ll be there to help if you have any questions.
I look forward to seeing you at Draycote.
