Rowsell Omega foam sandwich hull with wood decks. I have 3236 which is another Omega boat. Construction is "agricultural" compared with later foam sandwich hulls. Im in the midst of refurbishing mine, and I think it will be quite nice when done (living 600 miles away from the boat isn't helping progress!). Is yours deck stepped? Mine has been converted and has a carbon SS mast and poles etc. Had to do some inside out gluing of deck panels after the butt blocks rotted out, not fun, whilst the transom wasn't really attached to the hull after a poor previous repair! Hence the delay. Check the bilge runners for damage too.

Harry,
Bananarama belonged to the legendary Phil King. Bananarama was 6th in the Championships at Abersoch in 1982, 3rd and 5th respectively in the 982 and 1983 Inlands and won the Silver Tiller in 1982 so no pressure...! Her history is in the Merlin Year Book which you'll get when you join the Association.

Well done Harry and welcome to the Merlin Fleet.

Bananarama was a good boat in its day with a very low rear tank which, last I saw, had a perspex window inserted to stop the boat filling up when launched on the river! I know she has been in the rafters at B/E for a while now so hopefully she will be in good order. You should find her quick at B/E as she is but she is a bit passed competing on the circuit further than a bit of fun, which is what it is all about! Just ask your Dad about that!

See you at Salcombe.
