Well it looks like the challenge from the MRx class is now over. When will they see the light, give up and buy Merlin's again? From this report it would appear that they had 4 boats at their 'open' meeting at their home venue. Not good. Even worse when you realise one of the helms was doing some spying for the other team (you know who you are Megan). http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/?article=23817 |
"there were four boats in with a chance of winning" |
Indeed. Anyone know how many? |
at least six if the report is to be believed |
What a paranoic bunch some of you merlin owners appear to be. Why do you need to knock classes who have different goals to yours - you always all apear to be so defensive. For the record, there were in the teens number of MRX'S AT Wembley's open meeting. My advice to the gloater is "get a life" (and some facts!) . Or come and sail against the most competitive, highest standard and consistently highest turn out Wembley fleet - the MRX. |
Well put Darkside. |
In case it was miss construed, my comment, as was I guess 'read it again's, intended to refute 'naughty' as inaccurate and as such a pointless comment |
...it's a free forum open to all. Anyone can post any sort of view/comment that may well not be representative of the fleet as a whole. Good to remember this when reading comments. |
My comment was "some of you Merlin owners", not "all of you...". Most of you seem as normal as all other dinghy sailors, we are all a little different. My comment was aimed at the first contibution - which is rightly described as pointless. However, as feedback from the outside, there are a few more serial "other class" knockers in your ranks, who in my opinion do the Merlin fleet no favours at all. Enough said. To Richard B, new £8500 on the water, Second hand around or under £5000 and they are absolutely competitive with the new ones, as apart from detail fitting preferences, strict one design prevails, and the Ovington hulls stay very stiff. |
well i thoroughly enjoyed my sail, cracking stuff and then played with some of my doggie friends and stole some sandwiches of the table ( my favourites cheese and pickle ) a perfect day |
Well, we went to chichester for the day on saturday to look at boats...dogs are welcome in the bar (!) and the restaurant and the new facilites are really amazing...they put out a bowl of water for me..but no cakes.. |
that sounds great perhaps we could meet over the winter series, you are a mighty handsome dog duds |
...Megan, stop it, Zak will get jealous... |
