MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : 2009 De May Series

Just a reminder that our series is well underway and that Cookham will be our third venue this year. So if you have been looking after that 'old boat' all winter its time she was out on the water. Cookham is ideally suited to many of our older designs and their 3 race programme should offer plenty of good sailing. Additionally, the last race will offer the chance to race against newer designs - not at their best on the river and certainly disadvantaged by handicap. The Club is close to the M40 and within the reach of a large number of vintage helms. Do try to support this event. See Cookham posting on forum for detailed info.

Following that mention of the 3rd race it is worth pointing out that the first year we ran it the winning boat was a smokers in the 29's and came in third overall but took it on corrected time, suce is the advantage on the handicap on the river!

Worth a go just for the third race, but we are hoping for a good turn out and a nice breeze which, at the moment, is in a favourable direction.

Look forward to seeing you all there.
