I did Dinghy Week in my Phantom last year. Its a great week of round the cans sailing in Abersoch bay. If anyone is considering a holiday in the North with a very family orientated friendly atmosphere, then I can thoroughly recommend it.

Russ,
As your brother it will bring me great joy to beat you at abersoch in my albacore. You may beat me on the water but I think my handicap will play a big part. I'm also very quick as you know.

Oliver oliver oliver, i dont think those tanks you call sailing boats will stand a chance against my (formula one of dinghy racing) Merlin, even with my what can only be described as average to poor sailing ability.

Well if Olly sails his Albacore like he sailed his Solo, then I dont think you have much to worry about Russ.

only Joking ;-)

Starting to fill up with bookings for dinghy week. If you're still contemplating 'the willows' then suggest think about booking. Sooner rather than later.

See you on the water

Miles, my brother has booked my family in at Mrs Priests B&B, my Better half didn't fancy camping as we have a young baby, it also sounds like i may not be taking the Merlin as i cant get a crew!! So i might be crewing in a fireball or a B14. Shame because i was looking forward to competing with some fellow rocketers

Russ,
I'm tempted to offer my services as crew, but that will probably put us in the VLCC class weight wise, and make the chances of giving Lofty's Albasnore a kicking even more remote than they were before.(i.e. nonexistent). (Yes I am big rog from Tewkesbury, now based at Banbury, living out near Moreton in Marsh).

By: BmaxRog
Talking of Banbury, when are you going to email me back rog?

By: Jon
Yes, oh mighty one, I'll get right on it............

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Pete and myself will be racing in the morning as we have a fleet start sorry we will have to find anouther event for the albs to show the merlins how it done.

Bloody hell Rog, i think we would be about 10 stone over wieght!

I did crew for Henry Wright from Bala last time Tewksebury went to Wales, in an Uptown Girl design. We must have had thick end of 30 stone in the boat. Slow offwind, but awesome up the beats.

Rog not sure if Russ's boat could take it

By: Olly
I know this as I may have slighty damaged it the other week when I crewed for him

By: Olly Hopkins
Cheeky swine, my boat is a well tuned down to weight racing machine. Not like those old tug boats you race (Albacore). The fact that bits break off every week is merely a formality and a sacrifice I accept for out and out racing performance.

Sounds good, wouldnt like you to have a repeat of the Cruiser incedent Rog. Dads boat neaver was the same again. I think i may be crewing for Charles Chandler now in his B14 although still not confirmed. Also might be a chance of crewing a Fireball.

Really is a shame that we will not be able to race Olly in his Albasnore this year at Dinghy Week.

I was looking forward to giving him a pasting. :-)

Really a pasting. Maybe you should reveal yourself and let me know who you are.

Hi Russ, the Albasnores now have a seperate fleet start in the Morning.

Any idea what impact that will have on the numbers in the double handed handicap fleet ?

cheers

:-)

It will not make much difference, you will still have the larks, national 12's, 505's, hornets etc.

Russ,
B14 at Aberflop in a breeze comes under the heading of "things you got to do before you die". Be there!
How dare you insinuate that I was resposible for the "cruiser incident"-it was all that nice Mr Fornara's fault for not letting go of the cockpit coaming (despite me standing on his fingers (and jumping up and down(and shouting "let go you b-----))).

Rog you must take legend status for being the only preson at the club for capsizing a cruiser and covering the site in little polestyrene ball.

By: Olly Hopkins
Olly is the person to ask really I have no idea!

It does sound like fun Rog, Especially with a Chandler at the helm. Last time I crewed for him was at the 24-hour race we capsized at around midnight completely pissed! Olly had forgotten to blow buoyancy bags up in the enterprise we were sailing! That was an experience
