I'd like feedback on the 'fat' 2.8m2 jibs some are now sporting, ie the ones with the tack on the bow. I dont wish to go for a smaller main (not least because I have a good one) at this stage , and remeasure/certificate. Has anyone done some 2 boat back to back testing? I have jib bars. Chris Gould has had his moved back 100mm to get the right sheeting angle. Dave W has tried longer bars (they bent). Chris M has bars the same as mine. Would a lower cringle position be practical (I cant see why not). Would a slightly shorter foot than the now standard fat jib with less overlap work in light winds ? Thanks Robin Charles 3785
