MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Brading Champs 23 - 2nd update

Hi Everyone - Rest assured your committee is full steam ahead planning for our 2023 Aspire Nationals at Brading Haven Yacht Club. The club are very much looking forward to welcoming the class. So far our conversations and that of the sailing club with the ferry companies have not resulted in a deal, but we will continue to do what we can. In the meantime our work continues and these are the options we have found to help us all plan for our trip across the Solent next summer.

Ferry

1) Tesco Clubcard - for those that have club cards, every 50p of voucher equates to £1.50 of travel. This deal is spectacular and hopefully in time for your Christmas shop! https://www.wightlink.co.uk/ways-to-save/tesco-clubcard

2) Red Funnel have a Black Friday offer running, where you can get 1/3 off your ferry all details can be found here. Looks like the offer expires 2nd December -https://www.redfunnel.co.uk/en/isle-of-wight-ferry/special-offer/black-friday-sale/

Accommodation

3) There are a number of great value holiday parks offering budget accommodation in the close vicinity of the club, including this one https://www.parkdeanresorts.co.uk/location/isle-of-wight/nodes-point/

Entry

4) We will confirm final entry fees next week, but you can expect them to be substantially less than 2022.

Overall, we’re confident that with a bit of planning ahead, this champs should be no more expensive (considering ferries, fuel, accommodation and entry) for most than 2022 and will be an excellent week’s sailing. We’ll update you further as the entries open and if we are able to access any more offers.
