We have the Merlin Silver Tiller coming up on the 2/3 April . We would love you to enliven Salcombe YC as you always do. David Greening (PRO for Merlin Week) and his team, are much looking forward to seeing you on the start line for what we hope will be a great weekend for you.

 For info there are a few roadworks in Salcombe at the moment - Devon Road is closed past the turning for Herbert road (above the yacht club) and Allanhayes road is also closed.

 Well done to Mike and Jane for winning the Salcombe Silver Tiller, is there a report?

 

Thank you Salcombe YC for another great weekend, Despite my dismal performance I enjoyed the lovely weather on Saturday, good company and the (very) occasional pleasure of overtaking respected rivals.  And so good to see Guy Winder down celebrating his 80th birthday.
 
HOWEVER............ I was more than a little concerned that the bar talk was more about the current "Archers" trauma than how the new all-conquering design they had in mind was going to be so easy to build now that the construction rules have changed.

Just to add my thanks to Salcombe YC for making it worth the long drive there and back last weekend.  We got a lot of sailing value out of the 250 yards between the start line & the Mill Bay mark  - were very pleased to see the finish line at Snapes, an excellent bit of race-officering!  The conditions on Saturday were lovely up the estuary even if the washing machine was in full spin cycle in the main channel and it's always interesting to go up to Balcombe.  At some point I may even work out where the main channel is before hitting the edges.
