As the title suggests we are looking to get back into the class after a hiatus! I have emailed some of the owners of boats on the for sale list but no reply yet.

If anyone out there knows of any boats available or soon to be please put me in touch. We want a wooden boat with as modern carbon rig as possible in good condition but not afraid of some work, buying sails or travelling to collect (Solent based).

 Hugh,   I can vouch for the Make-it-So design (3570 above), I have 3571 'Hakuna Matata', they are beautiful boats, relatively easy to sail and not as 'tippy' as many earlier models!  Whilst I am rubbish, the boats are very competitive and 3570 will put you in pole position on the 'Prime of Life' circuit (boats 3571 or older!!). You would have to ask Laurie Smart but I reckon a new one would cost you well north of £20k to get on the water.

Just to avoid confusion, it would actually qualify you for the Classic Merlin sub-group. Prime of Life has been superseded, but we are making efforts to promote Classic and Vintage racing alongside the more modern boats. There are other threads on the forum with more details, but do get involved - sounds like some great boats are out there!
