Topic : Classic Silver Tiller mini series - gauging interest

Dear Classic Merlin owners,

As per the sentiments expressed in previous threads, including the one on the new categorisations from Fran, it appears that there is interest in a "Classic Tiller" mini series, to be held within the Silver Tiller. As such, I have looked into the most effective way of working out which events are of interest to you. The result is that I have created a doodle poll, with all of the Silver Tiller events on it: https://doodle.com/7frrtcahvt429gce [You can go in and have a look at the survey before adding to it, but make sure you click save on the right hand side once you've done it. Doodle is secure, and our survey is only accessible via the link above]
This is specifically for non-Modern category boats; i.e. primarily Classic, but also Vintage.

I know that some of you have emailed Fran, but if you can go into this poll, add your name and boat number, and click on the events you think you are likely to attend - by this I do mean "likely to attend", not "maybe attend", or else the survey becomes meaningless.

Please note that this is an experiment to gauge interest but, if there is sufficient uptake, we will look at basing a Classic Tiller mini series on the results.

I hope that this will provide some indication of how serious people are about making this a success, and it would be good to see input from those of you that have contributed to the other threads in the fairly near future, as it would be great to get more of us out on the water!

All the best,

Tim

Tim have entered mine, Lyme would also have been selected, but dates clash with something else, Would love to go to more but they are just too far away.

Hi Tim,

Great idea!

I've entered mine. I have offered my old boat to my daughter for Draycote and we may well do Blithfield but that's too far in future. Looks like we already may have a bit of north/south preference. Maybe for this year it might be worth keeping to the curent ST qualification requirements if there isn't too much synergy? I would like to qualify for the ST overall as well if I can. - just a thought. I have sent Fran a more comprehensive note.

Cheers, Dave

Well done everyone who has contributed so far. Weymouth and the Draycote Inlands are looking popular with three votes a pop so far. I can think of a couple more open candidates that I'd have thought might be good to aim for. And also some additional contributors that it would be great to hear from...

Keep it coming to make it a success!

Wanted to do Weymouth but it's proximity to Salcombe week rules it out, shame.

There are also a few boats around whose owners don't read the forum much... Might be able to convince three more from lymi gton to do Lyme or Weymouth, maybe inlands...

10 so far - I think it gives a fairly reasonable indication of some popular events for you. We'll come back with some more thoughts shortly. By the way, you can still have a look at the survey and its results to date by clicking on the link above.
