I'm thinking of buying a NSM4 no. 3411.
Does anyone know the former owner and/or race record of this boat?
Also, if anyone has any opinions on this design for a 22-23 stone crew, etc that would be appreciate. to date I've only sailed a narrow IXb and thinking to take the wider boat play.
Thanks, Dana Church

This was owned by Andy Jones and was a quick boat in its day. NSM4s were successful boats in their day but superceded by Canterbury Tales. Think it would work for the crew weight mentioned

Playing Possom was indeed owned by Andy Jones and it was Andy who had the paint job done by Paintcraft. I think it was a porsche colour if memory serves. He sold it to Ian Sutton who put the carbon mast on it (both members of Cookham Reach SC) and then sold it on about 4 years ago. I saw it raced regularly after that quite competatively.
It was always a fast boat and was in excellent condition last time I saw it. The NSM 4 was a very good design but came along only a short time before the Caterbury Tales and so never got a chance to shine. I would think with your weight it would go very well as would a Summer Wine if you can get your hands on one.

I tried emailing the owner with the email address he provided in the ad. Haven't got a reply yet, does anyone know any other contact methods?

Originally it was Nigel and Suzie Brook's. Nice looking boat, black as I recall?
