Diana Phillimore, long standing suporter of the Merlin Rocket Class and a regular visitor to Salcombe week since it began has sadly passed away following a long illness.

Diana's Nephew, Richard Ramsey, would like to invite all her Merlin Rocket friends to All Saints Church, Upper Norwood, London from 10am 6th February, followed by a cremation and refreshements. Following this on Thursday 9th February her ashes will be scattered over the Bar in Salcombe.

All friends are most welcome.

I must have known Diana for at least 50 years, in those days she was better known as Steve. I last saw her a month ago at our annual Ranelagh/Minima 'oldies' lunch which she seemed to enjoy. She was seriously unwell for a long time and the sad news does not come as a surprise.

Diana was a real fighter and it was always good to see her at Tamesis Club and Salcombe Week no matter how she was feeling.
She had a fantastic knowledge of Merlin sailors and their history.
She will be sadly missed.

Stevie was a fantastic enthusiast of the MR class - At Salcombe she would know all the boats the drivers and crews - ages, history, and about the boats - Most of the newer members will probably not have known her, but she knew you! Always had time to chat and listen and learn. Will be sadly missed.
