I am now the proud owner of 2917 of which i know very little apart from it needs alot of work. Im thinking of the options available to me. Is it possible to deck step the rig and if so can the old mast be cut down or will i require a new rig (which would be nice but not in budget at present) if anybody has any pictures of the interior of a similar boat so i can see what i am aiming for that would be great. Basicly help me :-)

If memory serves right that will be 'Ruby Tuesday' built by Bruce Mager and sailed by him for many years at Hollingworth Lake SC. Quick well built boat in its day. Bruce is still sailing merlins at Hollingworth.

Your memory is right. 2917 'Ruby Tuesday' was a Phatom Kipper designed by Phil Morrison and built by her first owner Bruce Mager in 1974. According to the year books he owned her until 1988/9 when her second owner was recorded as C Child also at Hollingworth Lake SC.
