This boat was owner built from a hull by Chippendale and was called "One Pork Chop" owned by E J Joyce at Sussex Motor YC. By 1967 the name was changed to "Emerillion" and she was at Newhaven & Seaford SC. Another name change to "Tatty-falarious" was made by 1970 and still at N&S SC. By 1981 she had a new owner but was still on the south coast (Brighton) but no club listed - after 1998 there is no record of her owner or whereabouts.

I helped Ted Joyce collect this boat from Chippendales in Fareham. The hull had to be lowered from the upper floor on a gantry - Ted was very nervous! He completed the boat from a bare shell in his garage and sailed it at Arun YC (where Ted still sails). It was a lovely boat and was called "One Pork Chop" because Ted was a butcher by trade.

I joined SMYC in 1962 and Ted Joyce had left by then . 1170 was I think owned by the late John Murray at that time .If my memory serves me right John sold it to a member of Lancing sailing club Reg Norris
