MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Crews

Hi Folks

You may not know but Pete has had to give up his sailing for 2010 and probably 2011 as of mid February due to other pressures on his time. I am therefore on the lookout for a crew for the B14 for the TT circuit, Europeans, Worlds and Nationals in 2010.

The current situation is that Seavolution is probably the best prepared in the fleet (new 2009), sail program is in place with a view to finishing unfinished business and taking the Worlds in Carnac (pre-Worlds winner last time and 2nd in main event Hobart, Tasmania).

It is someone's chance to front end the top northern hemisphere B14 2006 - 2009. What I am looking for is someone in their 20s+ who has done several National/International campaigns and has an idea what is involved in winning major regattas. This does not mean that you have won, but have the capacity to compliment a successful package.

Due to the nature of the boat, you'd need to have a reasonably high level of fitness, be approx. 72 - 77 kg (most fall in this area anyway) and be prepared to travel. The boat is based just south of Junction 8 of the M25.

Those interested, please drop me a line via my email attached to this thread.

Bye for now

Barnsie

I take it that as there have been no further posts on this topic that Stuart Gurney got the job?? Over the years he has certainly possessed all the qualities required

Its a high flying machine not a Sub (None displacement). Mind you Stuart could design a great bar to make the boat a centre piece. No, on a serious note, still in the market as the crew needs to be committed and fit as this is a serious campaign and until Pete had to bail out, were favourites to take the title in 2010. Onward and upwards and hopefully we'll sort it very soon.
Bye for now

I am well below 72 and not far away form junction 8 - I presume that should clinch the job

Hi Stu, the bar would fit around the mast gate and the totty could standby in the rib!!!

Hope all is well and see you at WYC during the summer no doubt.
