A neighour of mine is restoring a Proctor MkIX. The whole centreboard case is missing and most or all of the hog will probably have to be replaced. He would like to know if plans/drawings/measurements are available anywhere so I offered to post the question here on his behalf (he has heard of "The Internet" but isn't sure what it is).

There will somewhere be lines drawings but goodness know where, unless Ian allowed Jim Park a copy for his book? However the centreboard case will depend on who built it the three builders who made mk9's built in very different plate cases, Chippendale, Hoare and Wych & Copppock, however plent of examples of all three survive for copying a matter of consulting the year book, asking and taking measurements especially of the keel rocker!

Tell us where you are, and maybe there will be a local club with an appropriate boat you could pop down to measure.

1449 Pistol Dawn. I see from another thread on here that she was owner-finished from a shell, so probably non-standard (if there was such a thing as a standard) in the centreboard case department anyway.

Most "shells" would have come from the builder with the centreboard case in place. I would be surprised if there was any variation in the case between builders.

"Pistol Dawn" was certainly non standard in many ways her owner and builder Graham Leech fitted the centreplate case which was further aft than usual as was the rig, the jib tack ran for and aft and under deck on a roller track. The difference between builder if only in method of attachment to the Hog or in some cases through the hog and profile was noticable and still is.

I should add it was a Wyche & Coppock shell.
